The Hogwarts Legacy Quest Cache in the Castle sends you on a little treasure hunt. Your task is to find three specific locations.

In this quest guide, you will find out which places are meant and where you can find them in order to be able to complete the mission successfully.

1. Accept the Quest “Cache in the Castle”.

You will receive the mission “Cache in the Castle” relatively early in the game from a student named Arthur Plummly. Arthur Plummly is standing in front of the Charms classroom in the Defense Against the Dark Arts tower.

Arthur found two treasure maps and gives you one of them. He will give you a piece of paper with several clues drawn on it. Your task is now to find the places shown.

2. Rhino Skeleton in Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower

The first object you need to find is the rhino skeleton on display. The skeleton is on the first floor of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower. It’s very close to Zenobia Noke, from which you’ll get the side-mission Plenty of Goblin Stones.

As you approach the rhino, the quest will update.

3. Fountain in the Transfiguration Courtyard

Now we continue to the Transfiguration Courtyard of Hogwarts Legacy. If you’ve unlocked the Foo Flame in the courtyard, you can use fast travel to get here. Go to the fountain in the middle of the outdoor area.

4. Discover the Painting’s Secret

After that, you walk from the fountain through the big door behind it. In the next room, turn right and go up the stairs.

At the top, you see the portrait from the map. At the top of the picture frame is a handle that you can interact with. Cast Accio to pull the lever. This will open the hidden door.

You can now loot the crate in front of you and then return to Arthur Plummly.
