Jumping into action: Kangaroo trapped in pool area of Florida apartment complex

A kangaroo hopped into trouble in Tampa on Thursday after accidentally making its way to an apartment complex pool.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) said on Thursday morning, deputies responded to a call in Tampa regarding a kangaroo on the loose at the pool area of an apartment complex near the intersection of Fowler Avenue and 56th Street.

The sheriff's office released audio from the 911 call and footage from the incident on its Facebook page.

Dispatcher: "911. Do you need police, fire, or medical?"
911 Caller: "I guess police? There's a kangaroo in my apartment complex."

The HCSO Aviation Unit was called and video taken from the helicopter showed the kangaroo hopping along the perimeter of the gated pool.

With help from the HCSO Agricultural Unit, the kangaroo was reunited with its owner, after they showed deputies the proper registration papers for proof of ownership.
