The Maui News
Regal Cinemas will reopen at Maui Mall Village today following an extended closure due to COVID-19, the mall announced.
Showtimes will start at 2 p.m., with the last showing at 8:30 p.m. Featured films include “Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Mortal Kombat,” “Raya and the Lost Dragon,” “Demon Slayer” and “Wrath of a Man.”
Regal and Consolidated Theaters at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center both closed in March as the pandemic arrived on Maui and nonessential businesses shuttered. Ka’ahumanu Theatres reopened in October with social distancing and other new health policies.
Regal will also be taking precautionary measures, including reducing auditorium capacities to 50 percent, circulating more fresh air through auditoriums and keeping two empty seats or one recliner seat between groups.
Moviegoers must wear a face mask at all times while in the lobby, auditoriums and restrooms but can remove them while eating or drinking while seated in a theater. The theater will provide masks to people who arrive without one.
Reservations are highly encouraged through the Regal Cinemas app or online. Moviegoers can also purchase concession items from the app while in the theater.
The theater will be offering popcorn, candy, hot dogs and soft drinks at concessions.
